Well down here in SC You now must be 17 to get your regular license. In Georgia they are deciding now the legal age for a Driver's license and I think they're leaning towards 18.
There are other laws being passed, or being considered about what teenagers are allowed to do for the first certain number of months, how many other kids are allowed in the car, and so on...
What are you views? (this is a really good debate topic and I remember my 8th grade teacher making us debate it so I thought I'd start this section off ...)

hold up...when did it change to having to be 17 to get ur liscense?!
I think all these darn driving laws are gay....but they do make sense......I mean, you would expect older teens to be more responsible....but in some cases, it's not always right....some of the older teens are just as irresponsible as some of the younger ones.....

You have to be eighteen in Maryland...and I think that most places you have to too...
See when I first came here and they told me I could drive at 16....all I could think was that it seemed too young....
But then again I have yet to drive anyway...
But there are some laws now that you can't drive your friends anywhere....
But really...there are some grown adults that can't drive I mean they must buy there car at the dollar store or something...I mean it doesn't even come with a turn signal!

And that's why I don't want to drive...
Because of all the stupid people I have to share the road with...

but what about the smart people that drive?
most of the time what happens are just bad decisions...
only some people do that all the time not everybody...
what freaks me out is the road rage...

As much as I support Driver's Ed for everyone.. maybe you shouldn't take it...
there's just too many things you wouldn't want to see..
like the dead bodies, the crashes, the road rage...
seriously how many people keep a bat in their car?
oh I should shut up I have 2 tennis rackets in mine.

Here in Jersey, you have to be 18 to receive what they call a "Cinderella License." It's basically a baby license, with rules and restrictions all over the place. I think you have to wait like six months or something after that to get your real license...
I didn't take Driver's Ed, so I have to wait till I'm 17 to even take my permit test. The only way you can take it at 16 is if you're enrolled in a driver's ed class, and I'm not and don't feel like paying for it.
I think you should get your license at 17 in every state. 16 is a bit too young, and 18 is a bit too old. But these rules and things, they're just getting absolutely ridiculous, especially in New Jersey.
in conclusion, congress is mentally unstable.

I agree immensely...
but it's ok, see I'm ok with getting the license at 17 because you get the permit at 15, if you're in DE you can get your restricted which allows you to drive alone only for certain hours. that means a lot of driving time and practice.but if you don't have DE then you just have the permit... if you even get that *cough*
and so by 17 that means a person would have about 2 years of practice and then they'd be ready for all times of the day, and if you're like my parents then you'd finally be able to go outside of town...
